    Itinerary:

Welcome in Svolvær! Your self-drive tour will start here in the Lofoten. After arrival, pick-up your vehicle and drive towards your 3-star accommodation. Get comfortable after your day of travelling and prepare to follow the steps of the Vikings tomorrow.

Enjoy your breakfast and prepare to learn more about the Vikings. Today you will head towards the Lofotr Viking museum. Take a look at the world longest reconstructed longhouse, meet the Vikings and experience the recreated living spaces, Barn and Feast Hall. You can also visit the exhibition about the life of the Vikings or take a look at the amazing outdoor area surrounded by the enchanting nature of the Lofoten. Afterwards make your way back to the accommodation.

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before travelling towards Reine. Pack your bags and make yourself ready for a scenic drive through the Lofoten to your next accommodation. Tonight, you will stay at a real Norwegian Rorbuer, located at the waterfront. Enjoy the rest of your day exploring the area at your own leisure.

Enjoy your breakfast before departing with the boat towards Bodø. Did you know that the Vikings were so successful because of their boats? They had a design which made the boats quick and easy to navigate; with these characteristics they surprised their enemies when attacking. When leaving the boat you will arrive in Bodø. From here you will drive South towards your next accommodation, which is only one hour North from Mosjøen, located right before the former industrial city of Mo i Rana. Here, you can either do some shopping or visit the science center. If you are not a city lover, you will be happy with endless nature around to hike, swim in the lake, or visit the Marmor Slottet – a fairytale landscape in stone. Your accommodation for the night will be a charming cabin at Ytteren with a mini kitchen where you can prepare your breakfast in the morning while enjoying the stunning view from your balcony over the Ranfjorden.

Prepare your own breakfast in the cabin and take one last look at the beautiful nature surrounding you at Yttervik. Today you will drive South through stunning National parks and alongside rivers and fjords to Trondheim. This is the third biggest populated city of Norway. Here, you will stay in a 3-star accommodation for the upcoming two nights. Enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure in Trondheim.

After your breakfast a new adventure waits for today. We recommend visiting the Nidaros Cathedral in the city centre of Trondheim. The Cathedral is known for being the world’s most Northern medieval church. Located right next to it is Norway’s national sanctuary with the Archbishop’s palace, which contains the royal crown and other artifacts if the royal family. The visit of the Cathedral, the Palace and the Crown Regalia is included in this tour. Feel free to walk around and admire the beautiful architecture of these historic buildings, perhaps with a guide for more detailed explanations. The rest of the day is at your own leisure in the city of Trondheim.

Enjoy your breakfast in Trondheim. Continue the journey South towards the magical city of Ålesund. You will stay here for only one night, so after arrival make sure to take a look at this beautiful city surrounded by water and mountains. Tonight, you will stay in 3-star accommodation in Ålesund.

Enjoy your breakfast in Ålesund and get ready for a visit to the mesmerizing Fjords in Geiranger. Drive along the Fjords towards Geiranger, where you will board a cruise with your car onboard towards Hellesylt. Enjoy all the amazing views this cruise has to offer. Feel the power of the Norwegian nature and all its stunning Fjords. After the cruise you will continue your journey towards Fosnavåg. In the evening you can take some rest from a whole day of exploring the Fjords. You will stay in a 3-star accommodation in Fosnavåg.

Enjoy your breakfast and get to know even more about the Vikings. Visit the Sagastad Viking centre located in Nordfjordeid. Here you will find the reconstruction of the burned Myklebustskipet. This ship was burned to send one of the mighty Vikings to Valhalla. The ship rose from his ashes, got rebuild and is now available to visit! Besides the ship the museum has more to offer about the history of the Vikings in Nordfjordeid. After a day filled with Viking adventures you will head back to the hotel in Fosnavåg.

Enjoy your breakfast and head South-East into the fjord region. Today will be a fantastic scenic drive through the mountains of Norway. You will pass by the Jostedalsbreen national park where you will find mountain peaks filled with ice and snow. You will head towards Balestrand, a small village located at the Sognefjords. Tonight, you will stay at a 4-star accommodation in Balestrand.

Have your breakfast in Balestrand. Afterwards you will board the boat and take the car with you to Gudvangen. Enjoy the scenic views from the ferry onto the stunning Sognefjord. After the arrival in Gudvangen, head towards the Viking valley. Here you will have the opportunity to experience how the Vikings lived in a village around 1,000 years ago. The people walking around are not actors, but they are “real“ Vikings of all ages, who adopted the Viking lifestyle. Afterwards you will head towards Flåm where your 5-course Viking plank dinner awaits. After a day filled with Viking activities you will head to your 3-star accommodation in Aurland, just a few minutes from touristic Flåm.

Today you will leave the Fjords and head towards the capital of Norway, Oslo. After your breakfast you will make the last trip with the car to the vibrant capital. After your arrival you can spend the rest of your day at your own leisure in Oslo. The city has a lot to offer, such as museums, visiting the roof of the opera or the Holmenkollen. In the evening you will stay in a centrally located 3-star accommodation in the Oslo city centre.

Enjoy your final breakfast in Norway. A long and exciting tour is coming to a close. With many memories packed in your suitcase you will depart according to your own itinerary.

    Important Info:

An itinerary and quotation will be prepared for your consideration. Once accepted, a deposit is required to secure the booking.

    For each traveller, we require:

    • Full name exactly as shown on passport
    • Date of birth
    • Contact phone number
    • Dietary, medical or other special requirements

No services are held at quotation stage and remain subject to availability until booked and confirmed. If a quoted service becomes unavailable, we will offer a suitable alternative where possible.

Deposit amounts vary by tour and supplier and will be advised before booking. Some accommodation, cruises, Christmas/New Year arrangements and special services may require higher deposits, full payment or non-refundable payment at booking.

Final payment is generally due 90 days before travel, unless an earlier date is required by a supplier. Your booking invoice will confirm the applicable payment schedule.

Where final supplier rates have not yet been released, provisional pricing may be provided. Any applicable conditions will be explained before booking.

Your confirmed itinerary will specify all inclusions. Unless stated otherwise, prices generally exclude:

    • International flights
    • Travel insurance
    • Meals not listed
    • Optional activities
    • Personal expenses
    • Services not specifically listed

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended as soon as the deposit is paid, particularly where components are non-refundable.

Clients receive a 20% discount with GO Insurance. Please request a quotation.

Traveller names must exactly match the passport used for travel, including all given names and surnames. Incorrect details may result in fees or difficulties with travel arrangements.

Travellers are responsible for ensuring passports meet the validity and entry requirements of all countries visited. For the Schengen Area, Australian passports generally must:

      • Be valid for at least 3 months after departure from the Schengen Area
    • Have been issued within the previous 10 years

We recommend having at least 6 months’ passport validity remaining wherever possible. Travellers are responsible for obtaining required visas, travel authorisations and other entry documents. Requirements should be checked with relevant government authorities before travel.

Nordic itineraries may involve walking on snow/ice, uneven surfaces, stairs, boats, snowmobiles, carrying luggage and extended periods outdoors in cold weather. Activities may have age, height, health, mobility or licensing requirements.

Medical conditions, mobility limitations and accessibility needs should be advised at booking so suitable arrangements can be considered.

Dietary requirements and allergies should be advised at booking. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate them, but cannot guarantee this, particularly in remote or wilderness locations. Travellers with serious allergies should also confirm requirements directly with meal providers.

Travellers on self-drive itineraries are responsible for holding the appropriate licence for the destination and rental provider. A valid physical licence may also be required for activities such as snowmobiling.

Accommodation will be booked in the room category shown on your confirmed itinerary. Scandinavian rooms may be smaller than Australian equivalents and configurations can differ.

Twin rooms commonly have two single beds, sometimes positioned together. Additional beds may be sofa or rollaway beds. Double rooms may also use two single beds together, with separate doonas.

If accommodation must change due to circumstances outside our control, we will seek a similar or higher standard wherever possible.

Porterage is generally not included. Travellers should be comfortable managing their own luggage.

Some trains, flights, coaches, ferries, transfers and vehicles have luggage limits. Any applicable restrictions will be advised in your travel documents. One manageable suitcase per person is recommended. Excess luggage charges are the traveller’s responsibility.

Scandinavian and Lapland travel can involve very cold temperatures, snow, ice and rapidly changing weather. Appropriate thermal layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves, hats and suitable footwear are essential. Summer weather can also change quickly, so rain protection is recommended.

Weather, road conditions or operational issues may require activities or transport to be delayed, modified, rescheduled or replaced. Safety takes priority, and suitable alternatives will be arranged where reasonably possible.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Sightings depend on solar activity, weather, cloud cover and darkness. Tours are designed to maximise viewing opportunities but cannot guarantee a sighting.

Weather, transport schedules, supplier operations and other circumstances may require changes to accommodation, transport, activities or itinerary order. Where possible, comparable alternatives will be arranged and significant changes communicated.

Changes and cancellations are subject to supplier conditions and may incur fees. Some services are non-refundable from booking, with Christmas/New Year arrangements often having stricter conditions.

Please refer to the full Terms & Conditions and quotation for applicable cancellation conditions.

Unused services are generally non-refundable, including those missed due to late arrival, early departure or choosing not to participate. Where services are missed due to circumstances outside the traveller’s control, we will assist where reasonably possible, subject to supplier conditions.

A live digital itinerary will be provided before departure with confirmed arrangements, important information, contacts and relevant documents/vouchers. It may be updated in real time if arrangements change.

We recommend it is kept accessible and checked regularly. If an issue occurs during travel, contact the relevant supplier and our team as soon as possible so we have the best opportunity to resolve it. Delayed reporting may limit what can be done.

Travellers should provide a mobile number that will remain active while overseas. Suppliers such as hotels, transfer companies and activity providers may use this number to contact you.

WhatsApp may not be available with all suppliers, so travellers may sometimes need to make a direct local or international call. Before departure, check roaming, international calling, SIM and eSIM options with your mobile provider.

All phone, roaming, SIM and international calling costs are the traveller’s responsibility.
